- Brawl Stars is set to cross over with Spongebob Squarepants
- John Cena headlines the initial trailer to show off the collab
- The takeover begins today and runs through to October 2nd!
Brawl Stars is set to join the latest crop of Supercell collaborations, this time with hit cartoon franchise Spongebob Squarepants. They’re also seeing a brief, but important collaboration with a spokesperson for said crossover – And his name is John Cena.
Yes, Cena-tion fans will be glad to see the WWE Superstar appear in the latest trailer for Brawl Stars as he inadvertently drops his phone in the ocean and sends it down into Spongebob’s hometown of Bikini Bottom. Quickly escalating into all-out undersea warfare with a Brawl Stars twist.
The collaboration is set to be a full game takeover, starting today and lasting until the 2nd of October as popular brawlers get a full Spongebob Squarepants makeover. There’ll also be a new Bikini Bottom-themed game map, special power-ups, game modes and more coming to Brawl Stars!

Wrestling jokes aside it seems my earlier instinct when Squad Busters teased its Transformers collab was correct, and that Supercell is going on a bit of a crossover spree. Starting earlier this year with Erling Haaland Supercell’s games, which have usually eschewed crossovers or collabs, have suddenly opened up. It could be that Supercell is finally realising the potential that these sorts of game collaborations bring. This only brings up the question of what could possibly be next.
